Skaara

The Abydonian Skaara, played by Alexis Cruz in both the original Stargate film and Stargate SG-1, is the son of Kasuf and brother to Sha're. When the Earth expedition arrives on Abydos in the film, Skaara develops a special interest in O'Neill, while his boyish imitations remind O'Neill of his late son, who had accidentally killed himself. Skaara and his friends aid O'Neill and his soldiers to free Abydos the rule of Ra.

When O'Neill returns to Abydos in the pilot episode of the series about a year later, the Goa'uld Apophis kidnaps Skaara and his sister. Skaara is chosen to become host to a Goa'uld symbiote, Apophis's son Klorel. SG-1 invade the Goa'uld ship that Klorel commands during Apophis's attack against Earth in the season 1 finale, Within the Serpent's Grasp, but Skaara is only able to emerge when he is shot with a Zat. After O'Neill shoots Klorel to prevent him from killing Dr. Jackson, Bra'tac revives him in a Sarcophagus. Skaara and Apophis flee before their ships are destroyed in the season 2 opener, The Serpent's Lair.

In season 3's Pretense, Skaara's ship crashes on the Tollan homeworld while fleeing from Heru-ur's forces. With Klorel injured, Skaara regains control and pleads the Tollan for help to remove the symbiote. In the following Tollan trial, SG-1 succeeds in defending Skaara, and the Goa'uld symbiote is separated from his body. It is unknown what happens to Klorel afterwards, but Skaara returns to Abydos. Skaara meets SG-1 one last time in the season 6 finale, Full Circle. Skaara helps SG-1 in the search for the Eye of Ra before Anubis can find it on Abydos. Skaara is mortally wounded during the firefight with Anubis' Jaffa, but ascends with the help of Oma Desala.
